  • Can I ride on one horse with my child?
We do not allow two people on one horse for your safety.
  • Why do I need to make the full payment before riding?
Once we reserved a horse for you, the horse can not take any other customer. The staff is reserved for you and the horse is prepared for you only.
  • Do I need to come earlier?
No need to come earlier but we do appreciate if you come on time. If you come late it might effect your riding time.
  • What if I am late?
If you come late it might effect your riding time. We appreciate if you inform us if you are late.
  • Why is there a weightlimit?
We have all local rescuehorses. The Indonesian horses are not as strong as many of the western horses we are used to. We have a weight limit for every horse to keep their backs and legs healthy. Maximum weights can change if we are getting in stronger horses. At this moment we have a weight limit of 70 kg.
  • What do we do if it is raining?
With heavy rain we can postpone and reschedule your ride. We can not refund the payment.
  • Can I cancel my ride?
Cancellation is possible before 48 hrs. ahead of time with a full refund. Cancellation within 48 hrs will not refund the payment.
  • What do I need to wear?
Please wear long comfortable pants, socks and sports shoes. We provide helmets and boots (no additional cost) and if you do not have the long pants, socks and/or sportshoes, no worries, we can help you out.
  • Can I get an extra discount?
Sorry we can not discount on the horses. They need just as much food and care as ever. We have all rescue horses, most of them in rehabilitation or training. That means that only a small group of our horses that are already trained need to earn the food and care for the rest. We hope you understand.
  • What if I've never been on a horse before?
That's totally fine. Our riding is for all levels, even if it's your first time on a horse we will guide you and let you get used to the horse and make this first time a great experience for you.
  • Is there a minimum age for riding?
Yes we take kids from 3 year old and up. The little ones get an extra ‘cowboy’ with them on their ride for extra safety.
  • Can I volunteer at Salty Cowboy?
We wish you could. By law if an Indonesian person can do the job we should give the job to them. We understand and respect this rule.
  • How can I help Salty Cowboy Rescue Horses?
Your donations, big or small are greatly appreciated. You can become a 'Bestie' , and we have a sponsorprogram that is supporting the horses individually.
